Plant Fact Sheets: Overview

Welcome to a new section to our blog pages the Woodland Ways Plant Fact Sheets. Over the coming weeks, months and years we will be constantly adding new sheets to gradually build up massive database of useful information covering the bushcraft uses of our native plant and fungi species.

Each sheet deals with a single species of plant or fungi. It gives its common English name, Latin name as well as regional and alternative names. It covers edible, medicinal and other bushcraft uses.  Each sheet describes the appearance of the species, its range and habitat as well as listing confusion species and how to tell them apart. Numerous close up full-colour photographs accompany the text showing the species in all stages of its growth to enable easy identification.

Every sheet is referenced and includes links to blogs on our site where the particular species is mentioned.

Finally at the end of each sheet there is a link to a PDF of the fact sheet for you to download and print off to build you own reference book.

The fact sheets will be regularly updated as we find further uses for each species and obtain additional images, but don’t worry, we will keep you informed as and when this happens through our social media sites so you can replace amended sheets.

We hope you enjoy them.
